Mario Pedrosa, the 1964 coup d’état and the critique of developmentalism

Abstract

This article seeks to rescue part of the theoretical contributions and the socialist activist Mario Pedrosa action during the military dictatorship of 1964 from its balance sheet and prospects contained mainly in his books "Brazilian Option" and "Imperialist Option" of 1966. His critical analysis of developmentalist and nationalist currents of the economy is answered by the author about the prospects proposed by the socialist planned economy. Finally, rescues in the crisis period of the dictatorship and Pedrosa contributions to the foundation of the PT.
