History, politics and culture: Brazilian theater weaving the threads of a thought of resistance towards the construction of a Solidary Internationalism

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to reflect on the importance of the course of the Brazilian modern theater towards new esthetics expressions and new ways of resistance and social criticism. This way the group “Teatro de Arena” greatly contributed to the cultural and political questioning of the 20th century in Brazil and allowed different dramatics forms in the esthetics of the Theatre of the Oppressed to arouse.
