Abstract
This paper presents a reflection about the artistic trajectory of João Batista de Andrade on the Cinema, Television and Journalism, as well as the contours of his engagement during the disturbed period of Brazilian military dictatorship (1964-1985). Andrade’s films are analyzed in order to point the impact and troubles confronted by aesthetics and politics proposals of this artist.
