From the traces of the past to the first transition of the Workers’ Party

Abstract

Which are the most important transformations by which the PT passed through, since its formation? How the wounds of the past influenced its program and vision of government? The analysis developed here seeks to detect the most meaning points and focuses on the period from the electoral results of 1982 until 1985, observing especially how the principles and values and general guidelines of its program interacted with the institutionality and the social movement.
