Chilean workers’ presence in the government of Salvador Allende

Abstract
In 1970, Chile elected Socialist Salvador Allende by a coalition of leftist parties, the Popular Unity (UP) showing proposal as the "Chilean road to socialism." The design of the UP established the nationalization of the means of production and popular participation as the main principles in the processing socialist, prompting new forms of political action, especially among the working class. This article aims to discuss of these participatory experiments, the Cordones Industriales linking them with the trajectory of the Chilean labor movement and the political disputes on the left of the season.
