Abstract
The article addresses the exile of Admiral Cândido da Costa Aragão in its first phase (1966-1970), especially in Uruguay, based on documents produced by an information center (Centro de Informações do Exterior/CIEX) subordinated to brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In order to situate the reader in the focused historical period, the reasons that led him leave the country almost two years after the coup of 1964 are presented. Includes a brief account of his presence in Cuba and his contact with Carlos Marighella.
