Cultural Industry, the anteroom of Brazilian fascism

Abstract

This paper discusses the role of the Cultural Industry in the dispute and in the construction of Hegemonias, through the reproduction of patterns of representation of reality. When analyzing the films Tropa de Elite and Federal Police - The Law is for all and the series The Mechanism, we try to demonstrate how these cultural productions paved the way for the rise of a fascist and conservative discourse in Brazilian politics contemporary, as well as trying to transform a narrative about Operation Lava-Jato as unique as possible.
