Abstract

In the crucial moments leading up to the coup d'état in 1964 the congruence of ideas and values ​​between the military and civil society sectors, constituted the tone of the actions carried out by these actors for the ouster of President João Goulart. This article intends to defend, by analyzing the speeches and established memories, more than a specific state project, To express up the fears, the anxieties of those social strata that glimpsed, especially the rise of unions, a risk to their particular class interests.
