Rachel de Queiroz: support and criticism to the political developments after-1964

Abstract

This paper aims to investigate some of the speeches of support and criticism to the military dictatorship, established in Brazil from 1964 to 1985. Therefore, the documents chosen were three chronicles, composed by the rightist intellectual Rachel de Queiroz and published in the years 1964 and 1965, in the magazine O Cruzeiro. Between changes and continuities, we argue, also, some of the echoes that still reverberate in the manifestations of the current Brazilian’s 'new right'.
