The question of control over the foreign capital in the communist press (1951-1964)

Abstract
The article analyses two newspapers from Rio de Janeiro such as Imprensa Popular and Novos Rumos, which joined the press of the Brazilian Communist Party. They were periodicals that contributed to the propagation of political ideas of the PCB as well as social, political and economic issues in favor of the lowest stratum of society. This paper prioritises the 1951-1964 period and aims to identify, especially, the projection of the foreign capital in the Brazilian economy, furthermore it highlights the role of the communist press in the construction of the public opinion and the public agenda.
